My biggest mistake with AI-first coding is attachment. I'm old and I come from a time where code was still kind of expensive, so if a bunch of code that kind of looks like it's ok shows up in my worktree, I'm not just going to delete that, now am I?

So if a bunch of tickets, of course created with AI, are going to be picked up, of course with AI, then those outcomes produce something primal in me. But the outcome of AI work, while maybe costing some tokens, is nothing to be attached to like my own time and energy is.

Of course the answer is nothing new: Let it go. Let it go!

Kill your darlings, especially if they were spat out in minutes (at some cost!) by AI.
